When painting an army, we recommend breaking it down into manageable chunks, as it helps when painting a large number of models.
We recommend splitting your army into approximately 500-point groups for a Games Workshop game. For other games, this is equivalent to splitting your army into quarters.
Where possible, each group should have an equal number of standard troops, characters, and elite units/vehicles.
It's easier to paint an army in these small groups, as it's less daunting to paint a quarter of an army than an entire one, and there's a sense of achievement after each group is completed.
We recommend a mix of troops in each group, as painting 100 zombies at once can be tedious. It's easier to paint 25 zombies if you know you get to paint your cool vampire lord afterwards.
In a couple of days, I’ll explain how to use the Key to Painting Consistently.
